Haze: Plan C seems to be working Posted Oct 7, 2000
Hey Soap,
Part of the guidelines for submission of articles are that they are preferably written in the first person. And when the towers say preferably, they pretty much mean 'always'. They are also yet to include an article which is the expression of an opinion. Granted, computers are pretty important, but someone, somewhere may disagree and say that underarm deodorant is THE most important.
Perhaps you could just focus on one point and submit an article on that. say, 'The creation of the first online university', and track it from it's origin to it's first graduation.
Cheers

I say Haze, when you say "preferably written in the first person", do you actually mean "preferably written in the third person"?

I don't have to agree with anyone, and usually I don't, just because I'm that type of person; but, in this case, I think I will...
Edited Entries should be in the third person. This is a style point, but it is also a good way of assessing whether or not the point you are presenting is a good one. If it doesn't stands up to being re-written in the third person, then, chances are, it's not a very solid argument to begin with.
The case you make for computers being wonderful is good, and few people would argue against it; on the other hand this entry would be a better one, I think, if you were to describe the benefits a little more fully.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
