Summerhouse in storm
Hati Started conversation Aug 22, 2010
Two weeks ago we had a storm here. The village where our summerhouse is, was partly wiped off from the face of the . I was travelling for couple weeks, so I managed to take some photos only 2 weeks later, when there's a lot of log piles everywhere.
I spent a day at the summerhouse - it was all full of the sound of many chainsaws and the smell of burning branches and debris.
Luckily our house was unharmed, only lost couple meters from its top. All our neighbours got some damage. But the forests around us and the park in the village are.. not there anymore. Gone. Brand new views. And the beach is unaccessible.

She was there indeed. But she said it happened all so fast that she had no time to get scared. And then there was no electrickety for a week. That also means no water. She couldn't get away from there either.

Ah yes, that storm was in fact a derecho with massive downburst and some tornadoes.

That's one hell of a mess to clear up - but at least you get firewood from it. Lots of firewood, judging by the photos...

Not at our household, no. Young trees are more flexible, you know.

In fact one of them needs. But it's too late for that, the roots are all tangled, so we have twin plumtrees.
