my thoughts on what constitutes problem drinking

if drinking is leading to unhappyness then i would class it as a problem. if the person involved says they are happy then its not really for outsiders to judge. some might say that if a person is damaging there health then its problem drinking but lots of people take part in recreational activites that can damage there health. activites from motorbike riding to cooking for fun all carry dangers and its up to individuals to choose the level of risk they want in their lives. yes drinking can be problematic and dangerous, outsiders should only really label it as such when the drinking is leading to unhappyness for the individual or those around them in my opinion

Funny thing about alchohol is the motive for drinking - for some its pure enjoyment, for others its like a being a member of a club, they want to belong, and soon they find that it suits them and lo and behold goodbye to relationships families and more.
Here in Norway alchohol has allways been a major problem - drink driving - first offense 3 weeks jail - level, virtually zero - many are caught on the road the day after, the "crime" is taken as seriously as its possible consequences.
I think the last sentence is the key cause its about your "fun" and somebody elses life.
