Thanks; this is a nicely done article. One question concerning Enkidu: he spends 7 days and 7 nights cohabiting with a prostitute, then has the biggest fight this side of a western movie (sorry, I"m American)- and after all this becomes part of the city of Uruk and Gilgaqmesh's best friend- were the mesopotamians suggesting before a guy can be civilized he has to deal with sexuaqlity and aggression? Or have I just been reading too much Freud?

Personally, I think it was just a ripping good yarn!
I know what you mean about the Freudian thing, though!
I'm off to try and find one of those Penguin copies now!
Cheers!
Rev.

No question about its being a really good story. If you're interested, i've downloaded some music a guy has written based on Gilgamesh; it's at www.ragz-international.com. And no, I don't know the guy and the download is free. "The Bull of Heaven" is really good.
