I've been listening to the Recorded Book format of this book (performed in 2004 by George Guidall) while commuting to work in the mornings. I can't judge the completeness, accuracy etc. but I highly recommend listening to this version. The language is vivid, poetic and captivating. Anything that can keep me awake that early in the morning has to be powerful. Gilgamesh's lament when he finally realizes his friend is dead brought tears to my eyes.

In the second part of the book Stephen Mitchell gives a fascinating and insightful explanation of what the story means to him. Great stuff!smiley - ok
