Firstly, I would like to thank whoever wrote the amazingly interesting and informative piece on Veggie Tails for clearing something up for me.
For the past two months all my friends have been raving about how brilliant, amazing and wonderful Veggie Tails really is and then there's me - sitting there without a clue. Now I know.
Now the only thing that I am confused about is why everyone seems to find computerised vegetables so wonderful. Although I am not really in a position to comment considering I've never actually watched an episode, the idea of walking, talking and singing vegetables portraying moral issues seems a bit far fetched. Surely, the fact that the stories are told by singing vegetables takes the focus away from the moral issues that are being raised.
I suppose I should really try and watch an episode of this thing before I start making any more judgements but that was really on my mind once i read the article.

Listen, I just have to tell you to get the VeggieTales shows if you don't have them already. I've seen every episode and own most of them (I've even got a CD of VeggieTales music!), and can tell you that every episode is worth it. The lessons will entertain kids of all ages, and the silly songs with Larry will entertain kids, adults, adolescents, etc. I love the silly songs. Especially the "Song Of The Cebu", and "The Water-Buffalo Song". And who could forget the immortal classics "Dance Of The Cucumber", and "Where Is My Hairbrush?".
The only thing I don't know is what Mr. Lunt is. I seem to recall that the official site once mentioned that he was a squash, but I still think he looks more like a coconut. Or garlic. Or maybe an onion, if I stretch my imagination.
In any event, this is *not* a show you want to miss. *WATCH IT NOW*! Even if you don't care for the moral values, and the sometimes cheap humor that they're delivered with, the "Silly Songs With Larry" make up for the rest of it.

I assumed about the same before seeing an episode of Veggie Tales. I expected it to be boring, preachy, and really really stupid. Then I saw "King George and Ducky", and realized how wonderful it is. The silly songs are quite silly, and also very catchy. It's a wonderful children's program, much better than the other biblicaly themed children's videos.

I love the Cebu song!
cey-BUUUUUUUU
achoo moo moo achoo moo moo achoo moo moo achoo
I think Mr. Lunt is one of those gourd-type squashes, except that he's purple. Maybe he's some kind of odd turnip.

I just want to point out that my previous posting in this forum was done under the wrong name. Just imagine that it has the user name "Afgncaap5", and the user space of http://www.h2g2.com/u99500. But everything I said before still stands! It's still great! Watch it if you've never seen it before. *Then* you'll understand all of the hype about it.

I'm so sorry. Mr. Lunt is not purple. I don't know where I came up with that.

This has to be one of the wierdest things ever (besides Vegietales of course). I presume you are all adults or of an adulteus age, and here you are raving and ranting on about Vegietales! I have to say, that in school we are forced into watching in it. This is not the most entertaining thing to do, and I'm sure that younger kids would find it wonderful (and from what I've seen here, so would there parents
), but I knnow that it was a little too wierd for me. I thought the sheep falling over in David and the Giant pickle was a nice touch though.

I was originally introduced to VeggieTales at work of all places. I work for a very competitive retail store and "The Stuffmart Rap" became a motivational song at our sales meetings. My division decided to one up the rest of the store so we went to buy this particular video (It was the collection of silly songs). We bought the wrong one and loved it as well. I've since introduced my three year old and his friends to the series. Now I have an excuse for watching animated vegetables that can clap and play musical instruments. By the way, we have a new rally song now, because we are the "Pirates that don't do anything."

It is flattering that you think we're all adults. I myself am just a teen, but i am told that i act adult-ish sometimes (ie, my friends come up and say, "Somer, you're being boring again. Quit using big words!")
I like the show very much, even though Im not supposedly the right age to be watching it. It's one of the only things I've found that the two year olds i babysit for and I can watch together without one being extremely bored.

My niece has Esther. What kind of veggie is Esther supposed to be? She looks more like a spoon...

I never watched the Esther episode, but I know what you're talking about. They just should've used one of the existing characters in my opinion. But, Big Idea Productions has the right idea often enough to make mistakes here and there. However, I heard that there was no silly song in Esther's story. That's just wrong.

I have watched the Ester Video, and sad to say, I did not notice any silly songs,(please forgive me if I missed it). There's other songs in the viodeo thought, but not necessarly silly ones. Sorry.
