Some thoughts I had for a moment or two last night:
"What was that noise?"
"Was that a cat?"
"Was that a cat sharpening its claws on my leather chair?"
"Does a cat make a noise like that?"
"I wonder if broe jr is home yet?"
"If broe jr had come home, wouldn't he have turned off the light?"
*sound of kibbles on ceramic*
"Ah, good. broe jr IS home"
"...or, whoever broke into the house is feeding the cats before he murders us in our sleep. That's nice of him."

Well, if he was taking his time to feed the cats, maybe he would have started in one of the other bedrooms and I'd have fallen back asleep by the time he got to me.
