I'm, um, back.... I think.
At least, the internet connection I relied on for most of my access has been officially restored, for some undisclosed reason. My first thought was "trap", but since this is just about the only place I ever used internet access for (or the only one I visited daily at any rate), if they were going to fire me for it they'd have done so about a decade ago.
Anyone reading/read the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R R Martin?

Hey broe! Conspiracies lurk around every corner.
I started the series but honestly didn't care enough about it to stick with it. I'm going off fantasy, though. One of my phases. It circulates really well at the library. I'd use that as a better indication than my own personal opinion.

Hyp!
Good to see you back! Yes, I realize you've been back for a few weeks and it's me that's been absent, but the last time I was here I was checking to see how you fared in the storm. I've been reading your updates, glad things are going as well as can be expected. I drive through part of the damage area from the Good Friday tornado on my way to work and I'm still seeing houses that haven't begun repairs here. I can't imagine the job ahead for Joplin!
I've just started the third book in the series. I find I often get bored with some characters' stories, but there are others that I'm really curious to follow. Probably I'll set the whole thing aside for a few days when the new Stephanie Plum comes out next week

Most important things first -- is Carp ever going to win another game?
You don't want to see Joplin right now. The extent of the damage is almost beyond belief. We still have upwards of 16,000 people without any permanent housing. It will never be the same city again. There was another fatality from the fungual infection that is striking injured people, a man who worked on our HVAC controls for us became #154.
Key: Complain about this post
