Snow, sleet and more snow. At the moment we're back to sleet, but it's dropped off a bit. I went out to shovel about an hour and a half ago, we had between 3 and 4 inches. I'm still seeing cars driving down the road past the house, so the roads aren't impassable yet. Here's a couple of pics:

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

They're forecasting "measurable snow" in Austin for Thursday night/Friday morning smiley - yikes

I don't think that means anything like the amount you're getting.

It's not snowed at all here, but the freezing rain has caused a lot of problems. Had to cancel an event I've been planning for two months tonight smiley - grr.
At least I'm inside and safe, though. smiley - brr

Sorry to hear that, Jordan. Is it something you can reschedule?

The news a little bit ago reported that highway 70 is closed from Wentzville (where I am) to Sedalia (about 150 miles west). It's not snowing at the moment, but there's a second wave due to arrive in the next 2 hours. Supposed to snow overnight with the heaviest coming down between 6 tonight and 2 am. I called and asked my boss if I have to come in if they close the rest of the highway.

Surprisingly, he said 'no'. smiley - wow

Take cover, broe. It is dropping snow at a rate of 3-4 inches per hour.

I did go in to work Wednesday, and didn't really have much trouble. I think we ended up somewhere between 10 and 12 inches. Highs were in the teens Wednesday and Thursday, overnights hovering around zero, so the snow is sticking around.

Then I was surprised to find when I woke up this morning... THREE more inches! smiley - rolleyes

According to rumors - although I haven't actually watched a newscast since I overdosed on Tuesday watching the storm - we're supposed to get another 3 to 4 tonight, and then some more tomorrow... and then again on Wednesday I think.

I know everyone around here is sick of snow, but honestly this is winter like I remember it being when I was a kid. I've thought for many years that it just doesn't snow like it used to.

Anyway, I've added more pics to the album linked in the first post if anyone's interested.

Those are incredible pics broe. Especially the rock wall with all the icicles smiley - bigeyes

Yeah, we're supposed to get some freezing rain midweek. And the UK had its coldest December... er, ever I think, with about as much snow as you're getting.

What a winter smiley - headhurts

Was just re-reading this and thinking - "Wow, what a fantastic winter it was" smiley - wow.

That thought was closely followed by "Gee, the folks down around Joplin are really getting hammered this year, what with the huge snows, then the tornado!"

Then I moved on to "What a shame the kids didn't get out of school until JUNE" smiley - evilgrin
(Yep, just like when I was in school smiley - laugh)
