Gawd I miss this place.
But I'm soooooo glad there are still so many people here when I pop in.
I've been having an affair with Facebook. We're currently experiencing some differences of opinion (I think I should be able to log in, and FB has other ideas), so I've come running back home to cry about it. Well, and like I said, I really miss this place.
Anyway, if I ever get to log back in I'd be happy to 'friend' any of my friends here. If you don't know how to look me up drop me an email, the link on my page still works.
In other news, life is going on. broe jr started high school this week, SuperChunk starts pre-school on Tuesday. Junior is playing football this year, too, so with the martial arts his schedule has gotten a bit hairy. I'm still working the same goofy, stupid, effed-up schedule I've been on since January (still HATE it). Summer went by too fast.
Didn't take a vacation this year. I've worked most of the summer. Mr B is going on vacation next week with my Dad, I get to take the week off work and stay home - which will actually be pretty nice since at least two of those days both kids will be in school. (It'll almost be like being single again ). Dad & Mr B are going to visit the race shops and the Richard Childress Winery in Mooresville, NC. My vacation will be when they come home, we're going to Indianapolis Labor Day weekend just for 2 nights. Really all I want to do is have dinner at Buca de Beppo, but Mr B gets to visit more racing attractions - it's the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
I know this will seem to be totally unrelated to my journal, but it really sucks not to have a close confidante available when you need one. Really I think the reason I logged on tonight is because I can't go to the coffee shop and spend a couple hours talking to the one person I'd really like to, and I needed an outlet. There are some things that email and phone calls just aren't good enough for.
I think I'll go follow that thought up with a beer.
Cheers

I just don't care for Facebook for some reason. Can't put my finger on why it bothers me. Anyway, I'll try to pop by your space there and say hello.

For me - two things.
Firstly...I put all sorts of RL people in there before realising that I don't interact with all my circle of friends/relatives/acquaintances in quite the same way. I don't want to have the same sorts of converstaion with all of them. I don't want to share the same news with all of them. With some of them...I want to keep certain things from them. (Nothing heavy...lifestyle stuff. )
Secondly...it's too damned twittery. I really don't care to know what my sister had for lunch or how much she drank last night. But if anyone wants a decent conversation...they know where to find me.
Actually...I've thought of a Thirdly. Why the did I put my sister on there in the first place? For a while it was our only means of communication - only, of course, it wasn't *me* she was communicating with. So I'm not going to make it so easy for her. If she ever feels she wants to acknowledge the existence of her only nephews and niece, she can make a godamm effort.
On a cheerier note... to Bro. My news? Set to land a part-time university teaching post in Scandiwegia.

Hi Bro! I too have been lured away from h2g2 by for an extended period, but eventually dropped in here again because there is noting like a cup of virtual , and because I missed the unique hootoo atmosphere. But it would be lovely to see you, and Hyp, and anyone else I know from here, over there too. The name to look for is Dave Jennings, on the Bradford University network!

That's an other thing...on FB i used my RL name, so I can't be quite so Free'n'Eezy. Think of my reputation!

Gee, sorry for the delay, ormy, I've just gone and looked you up!
So, in conclusion, no matter my intentions, apparently it's impossible for me to pop in more than twice a year. Something to consider when it's New Year's Resolution time, I think!
