The ones who get caught are raked over the coals. They have a hard time even finding a place to live and a job. Power? Don't make me laugh. I remember reading an interview with a convicted pedophile who said that when people talked about putting pedophiles on an island somewhere, he would welcome it because he would be safe from the many people who hate him.

I've seen estimates ranging from 5% of the male population to 20%.

I can understand that adults who are trapped with other adults of the same gender might commit homosexual acts. But sexual acts with children? Not even the evil Miss Hannigan went after Little Orphan Annie. Children are supposed to receive care from adults, which it takes one of each gender to produce.
