it's just that you can eat cheese. You can even feed it to your pets, if they like it. You can't eat guns, though you could shoot the woodchuck that's ruining your garden. I don't know about the consequences....
But each time yo shoot the gun, you use up a bullet. They cost *something.* Of course, cheese costs something, too.
