Pierce, I will watch online the Stonehenge Solstice ceremony, which is enjoyable.

It does not that long ago when h2g2 was saved.

To be honest, if we weren't having our Meet there, I would have never walked in a place like that.

I much preferred the Font and the Crown & Kettle. smiley - cheers

Kro isn't a place I would usually go to, either, but it did the job of hosting the meet - not the best acoustics for conversation, but the large windows were handy so I saw 2legs and knew I was in the right place!

Kro was - how shall i put this gently? - a very special place. Apparently it should remind you of a Danish countryside inn. It did nothing like that! At all! Believe you me!
But it did the job of hosting a major part of the meet and for that I am grateful.
But I enjoyed The Font and The Crown and Kettle way more to be quite honest.

To be fair they only called it Kro. But it was a bar. A big one. Not what you would call a pub or an inn and much less a typical Danish kro which looks like this:

http://www.gamlehumlebaekkro.dk/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/kroen2.png

Back in the day lots of Danish kros were royally privileged. This had its advantages, but on the flipside they were obliged to serve a hot meal at every single hour of the day.

My dad once reminded a kroejer (innkeeper) about this. He looked very worried and very politely asked if they could agree on a number of smørrebrød (traditional Danish open sandwiches) if my Father would receive a snaps or two on the house. Of course my father agreed and the kroejer sighed with relief smiley - biggrin

Two crows walk into a bar.
Before they can order their first drink, they get arrested for attempted murder.

Oh, which reminds me.

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. The first mathematician asks for a pint of beer. The second asks for a half pint.

The bartender shouts, "STOP RIGHT THERE! Here are your two pints, now all of you, GET OUT!"
