A butterfly just fluttered by
showing me it's colours
spring has sprung, soon summer's sun
its fairy tale will tell us

Are these recent allegations
Of Spring's arrival well founded?
Or will Wint'ry chill's depredations
Return with white drifts mounded?

The battle of the seasons
may last for many weeks
but rest assured that winter

The supermarket that I shop at had pansies for sale out in front today. Pansy season is officially here!

I've finally found a native milkweed that can stand the local climate for the monarch butterflys one sees about from time to time to lay their eggs on.
It grows well from cuttings.

Robins have returned to Michigan. It is curious that our official state bird chooses to winter elsewhere, but when they appear, we all say it is springtime.

There are crocuses everywhere, and now the forsythia is out. I see daffodils and thew first of the periwinkles.

The dephiniums have stopped blossoming and are putting on vegetative growth.
The tigridia haven't started blossoming yet but are growing nicely.
The newly planted out daffodils have stopped blossoming and are going dormant.
several of the cacti and succulents are putting on a marvelous floral show, along with the snap dragons, desert petite primrose and popcorn flowers.
Spring cleaning under way.

Spring probably arrives earlier where you are than where I am.

This year Spring has yet to come, as it is over a month late. The daffodils have not been long out and yet to see bluebells. It was quite strange to get snow in early April.

I forgot to mention, I have only seen one tree in blossom and all the trees are still blossomless.

Spring? Don't talk to me about spring. Here I am and so far I have only seen winter aconites and a single snowdrop. And on my long walk yesterday I spotted lots of old snowdrifts
