My friendly neighbourhood tax person sent me a nice letter today promising me a tax return. This is the second this year. The way things are going I may end up being able to afford my lifestyle
Drinks are on the house

What time of year do you need to file your return?

Pierce is the coollest pirate captain I've ever known.
He's also the *only* pirate captain I've ever known.
Maybe asking for more than one captain like Pierce would be asking too much.

I weighed in at 5.7 kilogrammes (12.5685 lb) at birth so I'm sure my mum would have objected to twins, paulh
But thanks for the nice words
I think our deadline here is 15. March
party on dudes and dudettes

I never had a tax return; and I used to pay 40% on everything, not because I earned a lot but because employers are 's
I couldn't afford an accountant to sort out payslips from fifteen or so of them;
So I will help myself to your free drinks.

Ha! Never complain to a Dane about taxes, we are paying the highest in the world - and have been for decades!
And actually, I'm not particularly lucky, since this was my money in the first place
But it's okay. I - like most other Danes - am willing to pay more if that is what it takes to take care of the infants, the young, the elderly, the sick and everybody else in need
*steps down from soap box*
And now: Back to the party!

Don't spend too much, Pierce. You have high taxes to pay.

You can come over to my place for dinner, as long as you don't mind tuna fish, peanut butter, and grass cuttings from my lawn.

Death and taxes are said to be the only things that are certain.
Do you think death is foul, too?

Are your taxes unusually high?

Yes I am. For all I know, Hati has to cope with high taxes.

Not as high as ours, but then Estonians have other problems. They changed their currency and joined the euro nations some s ago and I'm not sure that was a good idea even if it seemed like the only option at the time
I prefer our world record taxes and other problems to those of the Estonian nation
Mind you, judging from the Estonians I know I'm sure they will cope eventually

I think it's a good move to have a single currency across Europe. I may still have some euros from my visit to Italy in 2007.
