Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Started conversation Aug 28, 2010
summer holiday 2010 #1 is hardly worth mentioning. only one week, spent a few days with old friends here in denmark
#2 was different: I had planned to drive up to the northernmost norway (and study a number of slartibartfast's award winning fjords on the way, of course) but for a number of reasons i chose to put that up till next summer
i then drove over to some old friends at the other end of denmark. 316 km, i believe. about as far as you can go within the borders of denmark. except if you live on one of our 500 islands. like bornholm, for instance. or greenland...
but i digress
next day i drove to the netherlands to visit shazz and rob, who i hadn't seen since 2003. it was great. nothing much had changed there which i appreciate muchly! even the were still the same. allthough quark turned out to be quite sick and - as it turned out eventually - hurt. i hope he gets over it.
i had hoped to meet hapi, the dutch hippo, also - and maybe even the dinosaurs - but as it turned out that wasn't feasible at this time. oh well, maybe some other time
from the lowlands i went back to the afore mentioned friends and stayed with them for a few days. then i went home, changed clothes and drove off to house-sit for my brother and sis-in-law, who live on one of our islands and have three and a - and room for it too! they were on their way to finland and their daughter - my beautiful and sweet niece - was roaming around somewhere in south america
after a few days there i went back home, changed socks and drove to copenhagen airport kastrup to pick up optilcalillusion and thierry who stayed a few days for a mini-meet at my place. i had a good time and i believe they had too
now that i've been back w*rking for one busy week i finally found the time to type this and upload these photographs:

You can call me TC Posted Aug 28, 2010
No captions! Are you going to add them so we can tell Holland from Denmark or are we to keep guessing?
It's nice to hear that you got away. Seeing people, too, and animals. Sounds like my idea of a lovely getaway. Thanks - I hadn't realised that till now.

Of course there is a difference, Paul! One is flat and full of people that talk funny, and the other has a lot of cyclists and the people like their fish!

Has anybody got twitter, I don't know how to use it. But I still can't get in and I've got about a thousand photo's up there.
In the Washington Post it is reported that around 45000 people couldn't get access to a government site for about a week due to technology failure.
Probably this is something similar.
