Gnomon - time to move on

I've started back into the busy autumn evening schedule, with:

Monday: small choir

Tuesday: apparently free for the moment

Wednesday: taxi driver to two children who each have 3 music classes between them. My father normally comes up for supper as well.

Thursday: big choir

Friday: recorder class every second week

In addition this weekend, we're going to Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday night. Sunday and most of Monday will be spent exploring Stratford and the surrounds. On Monday evening we're going to see Hamlet, with David Tennent as Hamlet and Patrick Stewart as another character. (I don't know Hamlet so I'm looking forward to it). Then on Tuesday we have to drive to Manchester for a funeral at 9:30. Mrs G's aunt died suddenly.

I'm taking the rest of next week off, so I may do something interesting like going up to Belfast on the train, or go down and enjoy some sun in Wexford.

If my plans work out, I'll be quite busy this autumn, too.

Sorry about the death of your family member. smiley - rose

Have a great time. I've only been to Stratford upon Avon once, and that was more than 20 years ago, and just for a day. I don't recall much - but the weather was lovely. smiley - biggrin

Hi Gnomon,

I used to visit Stratford regularly when I lived in Oxfordshire. I was lucky enough to see Kenneth Branagh & Emma Thompson in Henry V there - they turned that particular production into a movie, of course.

Have a great weekend smiley - smiley

Gnomon, I live near Stratford and while it's certainly a very nice town, there's not all that much to see in the town itself. There's the Shakespeare properties and the river, and that's about it. Think about heading to Warwick or Birmingham for part of the time, if you can get there - there are trains if you're not hiring a car.

I saw Hamlet last month, it's very good. You did well to get tickets. Do enjoy.

There certainly is. smiley - smiley

Of course, my lack of hootoo activity in the last few days may well mean I've posted this far too late to be of any use to you, G.

How was your trip? Can we expect (or, perhaps, cajole) a report?

Funerals always get me down, and with two funerals the same weekend as our Stratford trip, I wasn't in the mood for writing reports. But I might do so in the future. It depends on the quality of the cajoling.

Fair enough.

I won't cajole you. If you feel like you want to report it, you will. I don't want to badger you into it. smiley - smiley
