h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

THis is getting VERY confusing but I think this is the way to sort it out. As far asI can make out GA's have covered all they want to. Aces have NOT covered 1,2,5,6,7,14,15,17,18. Post here if that's wrong otherwise claim your groups using this thread. Please GA's don't post here as we need to be clear about who the aces have covered.

No its wrong as 1 and 2 havebeen claimed too - can't you just use Vegiman's suystem Kheldar it prevents confusion, pretty please?
However the late activated pages have not been touched.

I'm claiming groups 2, 8, and 16 since it appears that I've already greetings some of the people in those groups. I might as well finish them off.

How often is this page of new Researchers updated, and is it always announced on the acesforum group when it is? Sorry about asking questions that have probably been asked before, but I'm a new ACE.

Just to make things easier for people posting after me (So you don't have to scroll up and down to see which groups have already been claimed), the following groups have already been taken, as far as I can tell, but I'm a bit confused:

2, 8, 16, 17, 18

Hi veg you are going to have to do something about confusion with GA's claiming areas done whch aces haven't visited -its been a real problem for about 4 weeks now - I'm sure some aces are visiting and leave thinking the whole thing is complete when its only done by GA's.Especially now we have some new aces on board.

What makes it even more of a problem is some Angels are also Aces and I feel as soon as a newcomer is contacted and welcomed the Job is done, but I know that many Aces feel that they should make their presence known.

It is difficult to lay down the law on an issue of this nature but I have had my thinking cap on and have come up with a little idea, which I put to Peta but have not yet had a reply.

We could have a friendly competition between the two groups - not a race to the finish but a friendly game.

I am not really in favour of having two forums one for GAs and one for Aces because I think the two groups work well with each other and a friendly banter between them should be maintained.

The GAs have there own links and the Aces have theirs, therefore I agree that both should be there to represent their groups.

The Idea would be that the headings would not be just numbered 1 to whatever but also letered from 'A' to whatever as well.

The GAs would follow the alphabeted headings (a,b,c,d,e etc) and the Aces follow the Numbered list(1,2,3,4,5 etc). and see who finishes first.

As the list will be computerised - I do not know who will take over my job - most likely Abi, so how it is run from there on would be up to her.

I dont know why I did not get the list this week - I am getting no response from the Towers - perhaps they are busy with the new update.

Well you see veg I checked with the towers and the official line is that since aces are the official representatives of h2g2 we are supposed to greet all newcomers regardless of whether angels have been there, thats the problem. Any race wouldn't be a contest because the fact is there are several extremely keen angels who crack through the list very quickly. I'd be happy not to keep ploughing a lone furrow thats why I checked with Peta and was assured that aces should greet as well as angels. Numbers and letters is a cool way of differentiating though.

I have also been in touch with Peta and she seems to like the idea of having a friendly game and says she will be watching with interest.

It'll only be a game to make it more interesting and add a bit of fun and banter between the two groups. If it turns out to be a fight to the death - I will reconsider it all.
