Milla worries about the new Kitten
Milla, h2g2 Operations Started conversation Jul 22, 2012
Last Saturday, a kitten showed up at the little golf course where my parents play. A man lives in a trailer there, and has several cats already. He avoided feeding the kitten for a few days, hoping it would find it's way home. But when it stayed he started feeding it, and gave it a litterbox - which it used, like it was well trained.
On Friday, two days ago, I brought it home. The man has enough cats, and we've been longing for a cat in the house.
We figured out it's a girl kitten, and she was very affectionate from the start, and rather playful. She figured out the litterbox, and also ate some wet food.
But she is eating less - she stopped going to the food bowl. She ate a bit when I fed her, last night. But she has been throwing up after meals. And she sleeps soooo much. And she doesn't play like the other day.
Today she ate about half a teaspoon, and drank a little, and so far she has kept it down, but she just lazes around, sleeping, and laying in the sunshine.
She has a runny right eye too, I keep washing it. And she cleans it too, as best she can.
I hope I can get a vet's appointment in the morning...

Yes, it sounds as if she has some form of infection. Poor kitty. Is there a vet open today for emergencies? I hope she gets better soon.

The animal hospital is open, but she isn't totally bad, I think. She did play for a few minutes, and looked happier for a bit again. Trying different things to feed her.

She had some fish this morning, and since she loved it, I gave her a little more, but that was probably too much...

I hope a vet can see her soon, and whatever ails her is easily remedied. Poor little sweetie.

She had some more fish later, went to eat of her own free will, and has kept it down. < crossedfingers >

I am not a person but I hope she progresses well, she is lucky to have someone like you to care for her. Hope all goes well.

She's better. She eats more often, when she wants, and hasn't thrown up since yesterday, midday. She still sleeps a lot though, but she *is* a baby after all.

She's been eating a lot better today.
And on the subject of something completely different.
I just cut Milla's hair!
It was terrifying. But it went .

Brave Mum to let you do it Peewee! Well done, both of you. It's rather an intimate thing to do - something I don't think I could experience with my sons - very much a girlie thing.

Has she been looking better? A couple of days can be devastating for such a teeny body, so if she's still off-colour, I'd suggest a vet visit. Has she been wormed? any idea how old she might be?
