Thanks m'dear! You are a good friend too!
I missed the whole event, being on business trip - but what a trip! The fanciest hotel in San Francisco, paying a fair bit but still a good deal for that hotel, AND being upgraded to a suite for no extra cost!

San Francisco, eh? Probably the bit of the US I would be most interested in spending some time in.
A terribly luxuarious suite was it?

Yes terribly... Huge livingroom with sofa+ 2 armchairs, telly, mini bar (1 litre of water $10.-) and desk, and lots of more space. Bedroom with queen bed, two huge armchairs, table and telly. Master bath with tub, two dressing gowns, ridiculous amounts of towels, soaps and lotions. Second bathroom with shower, just as many towels and soaps... Each morning the bed was made and the room tidied, and in the evenings I came back to closed curtains, turned down duvet and a radio softly playing.
I could get used to that! Actually I was a little embarrased about it all - I could have invited some of my overseas colleagues and other conferenc attendees, but just didn't...
Usually I end up in rooms with icky blankets on the bed and mildew in the tub and around the windows, so this was a nice change! (once the blanket smelled like armpit when I pulled it up to my chin )
SF was indeed nice, the little I saw of it. Chinatown was like a trip to a Chinese city! All chinese people, chinese signs, talking, vegetables for sale, weird herbal medicine stores...
Didn't have the chance to drive up to golden gate bridge though.

Oooh, disgustingly over-the-top, wonderful.
I'll bet those icky blankets and mildewed bathrooms were in British hotels...

If you mean into my home, then yes, definitely! It'll have to be spare beds and air matresses (but good ones!) for max 7 people. Then we have tent and sleeping bags for 3 more. People better be nice!!!!

Mmm. Life is like that.
It was pretty much just another day. Which is an improvement on the previous two which had me very down at points.
Be well.
