A new article I've written. I got thinking about Skiing when next years brochures dropped through my letterbox - I thought I'd like to see what other H2G2ers thought of specific resorts so searched for Ski Resorts - finding only a few disparate articles I decided to write my own and link to other Resort specific articles - some of which I have started to write from my own experience - some to come from my friends. I hope other H2G2ers will contribute, in the way of resort reviews/criticism.

Hi,
Its certainly a good start! As you know, this will take a bit of time to blossom into its finished ski-resort opus.
I'm used to giving advice, etc about individual entries, but entries encompassing lots of other entries are a whole different kettle of fish. I'm not sure what the official line is on getting group projects like this broadcast to the h2g2 community - Is there a page that I've temporarily blocked from my mind where researchers can advertise their wish to do a group entry? I'll ask an italic - there's one lurking nearby

looks like I've been reinventing the Wheel a bit - I should have started this out as a Project in the first place.

I'm not sure If I'm ready for a Six week deadline though as I reckon this will continue for some time!

Extensions are never a problem. But you could break the project down into individual bits - aim to do a few resorts and then come back and do another few.

So do researchers just chime in? If I choose say 1 country do you think that would be a good place to start? Or should I start broader than that? Say Continent?

I would start with country or region.

You could advertise the project on your page and ask for volunteers on. the 'Ask H2G2' page. Explain what you are doing and see if there is any one else.

Another way of doing it is to go to http://www.h2g2.com/Search - and ask it to search for everything, Guide entries, edited entries and recommended entries. if you search for skiing you might find other researchers with similiar interests.

I've already done that, posting comments on all the referenced articles so far . I assume it is OK to reference other peoples articles without asking permission?

I will start it as a Project from Monday next week, after checking in to AskH2G2. Thanks for your help.

As a matter of courtesy you should let other researchers know.

Right, now I'm back from Hols (NOT Skiing unfortunately , walking in the Lake District - there may be an article there...), its time to think about publishing this article as a "project". I'm going to leave it for a week until some "offline" friends of mine give me their contributions (hopefully DTP on Thursday). Its a shame the Lake District doesn't get loads of snow - it would make a pretty good Ski Resort of its own!

So we can safely move this thread into the sin bin, now that a project has been started?

Projects not exactly been started yet! I've been busy since B2CH2G2 came up...
