There are no ski fields in The Blue Mountains - they are 2 hours west of Sydney and while they get chilly in winter and the occasional snow flake gets lost and lands in Katoomba,one snow flake does not a ski field make.
The main ski fields in Australia are in southern NSW, in the Snowy Moutains. There are a number of resorts here, of which Thredbo is one of the better known ones, the others include Guthega,Perisher, Smiggins Holes,Charlotte's Pass Blue Cow, and Mt Selwyn (a family oriented resort). Only a few fields have on snow accomodation, generally the guests stay in towns at the bottom of the mountain.
Victoria also has snow fields, Mt Hotham, Mt Beauty and others whose names escape me for the moment.
While we are not known for our winter sports, we do have a world class skier in Zali Stegal

No need fors - I wasn't having a go
Later in the year, I'm taking the kids down to introduce them to the white chilly stuff, and so if you can wait until then... otherwise it's many years since I was there and my memory may be faulty.
Just let me know.
