The rev is not worth it

Don't leave over the business with hootoo's least pleasant vicar or his mate. He's definitely not worth it. He's basically trying it on - he tried a plagiarised article - spotted - he tried a made up article - also spotted. I suspect that now he's done a straight but boring one in the hope that he can portray himself as being victimised. With any luck it will be ignored, which is certainly what it deserves.

I don't think it's that so much, as the fact that I got criticised by a fellow Scout for being impolite, while no-one else was prepared to step in and defend me when I was weathering abuse from him. But I agree, the Rev is a grade-A1 'twll-din', as my fellow countrymen would say. I hope I get to meet him someday: I somehow don't think he'd say the same things to my face, once he got the measure of me.
I'm going to take some time out anyway due to other reasons (see the 'what's going on'? thread). I'll be back in a bit when I can. In the meantime, let's hope the rev really oversteps the mark and gets thrown off permanently. And that I'm around to see it.
Thanks for the support
FM

I've just been admiring you literary works such as:
Baked Potato Toppings and Fillings
Rice Recipes
Games You Can Play in the Office
and Light-emitting Diodes
Very well written and interesting pieces indeed!
Did the personal attack not begin with your comments towards my article? Far from being constructive criticism I believe!
As for the comments of your chum, I would like it if you read fully what I have mentioned in the conversation surrounding my article about David Moses, which, incidentally was written ages ago, not as a knee-jerk reaction to the criticisms of FM. One of my best friends was killed in the tragedy, so if you want to make any cheap jibes about why I have written a piece about a man who has done so much to prevent it happening again, I would appreciate it greatly if you know what you are talking about first.
Here's hoping I get banned permanently though FM! That's a delightful thing to say!
I appreciate this little vendetta you have running though. It is just a remarkable shame that the other scouts didn't stick up for you on this occasion. I wonder why that could be? Maybe because they don't agree with your point of view. But then again you have conclusive proof that Stiltman doesn't exist. Of course you do.

Rev.,
I don't know whether I am being complemented here or not. I'd *like* to believe that this posting is an olive branch rather than a brickbat. Thank you for the compliment about my guide entries, but the ones you quote aren't the best: A656804 and A784045 are two of my personal favourites.
Let me tell you something about myself. I'm really not into running vendettas: I'm getting too old for that. I'm not smarting over the John Leslie episode: I really have more important things to worry about (such as the probable impending death of my own father). If you read through some of the other threads, I think you'll find I have too much going on in my life to pursue petty campaigns against people who I have never met.
However, I think I have a right to challenge disruptive behaviour. The volunteers who help to run this site spend a lot of their 'free time' (now there's a fine idea!) trawling through postings to PR. A dismayingly significant proportion of these postings are, well, not very good. When something comes along that looks promising then it's even more dispiriting to find out that it's been posted to jerk us around.
As to whether others agree or disagree with me, all I can say is that there has been a lot of comments from others about 'crying wolf'. You seem to be sincere about David Moses, and the loss of a friend is a devastating thing for anyone. So I apologise if I read your posting in the same spirit as the other two you made, but I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one who did this. On another point, Mr Stiltman may or may not exist. As you full well know, it's very difficult to prove that something doesn't exist, much easier to prove that it does. Others as well as me seem to think that he doesn't. If you could come up with some concrete and unambiguous proof then I would be very happy to say I was wrong and endorse the submission to PR.
Anyway, to bring this to a close, you have your opinions, and I have mine. I really don't want to rake over the embers of the arguments we have had. I personally think it would be a lot better if we agree to bury the hatchet and avoid each other in future. I will not comment upon your submissions to PR or any other postings you make; I will avoid them totally unless any reference to me is made. If anything abusive is said, I will simply yikes the posting, and after that is in the hands of the Italics.
One last point: in the David Moses thread, you comment upon what you have done and what you are involved in. All seem very admirable activities in themselves: the fact that you are involved in a lot of them seems to tell me, anyway, that you have quite a lot to offer this project and life in general. I personally would like to see more of this other side of you.

PS: it seemts that the Hertfordshire Railway Disaster could do with an in-depth, feeling and objective entry. I couldn't think of a better way of commemorating your friend than by wriuting about this event, and, if possible, doing your own little bit to make sure it doesn't happen again. Think about it.

In the spirit of fair play and because I simply must because I regard him as a friend (one who incidentally never writes, never phones! The ingratitude) say the Rev is worth it. Once or twice in life you have to stand up and be counted.I had hoped it would have been for a nobler and somehow more heroic cause but there it is.

Well, I think I'm beginning to see this other side of him. He's been a lot more pleasant of late.

Well, I'm still waiting for the article to appear (or even for David Moses to get the treatment you claim he deserves). I obviously shouldn't hold my breath.

Actually, I would have thought that with all skills he had in lying and whingeing, he'd have made a better replacement for Tariq Aziz.

Er, no. My dad is dying, so I've not had much chance to sit back and enjoy anything, really.
