Hi Kasia
I'm definitley going to go out and buy some more jazz. I haven't been listening much for a while, and some new experiences would be good. Definitely need some more TM. Any recommendations?

Hiya all!
Have you heard anything of Bill Wyman's Rythm Kings???
If not.....GO FOR IT!!!! They are SUPERB! The music style is a wonderful melange of jazz/big band/R&B/pop I'm listening to their album "Double Bill" as I scrawl this !!!!
They were live at this years Cambridge Folk Festival and brought the crowd to a flying stop! Talk about a load of seriously stunned "Folkies"! We gave them a standing ovation at the end.....Well, we were already up and standing as we'd all been dancing along to them.
If you love REAL music as played by REAL musicians, this is definately for you, audition the album as soon as poss.....Then buy it!
Now please excuse me, I've got to listen to some SERIOUS sounds!!!!!!!

There is a Japanese anime by the name 'Cowboy Bebop' (or at least it is in america, and the katakana on the title credits seem to match that sound as best I can read it).
More interesting than the show, which is indeed very interesting, is the music of Yoko Kanno and her band the Seatbelts, which runs pretty continuously and delightfully obtrusively throughout.
Check it out!

I had a look at Aamazon for said artist: they didn't seem to know about her. Any other pointers?

Hi folks
A Happy New Year to all of you
Well, if you wanna listen to Yoko Kanno, then try it at Audiogalaxy - they have many of her music. And that's right! Really good stuff...

eBay sometimes has her stuff, other than that try search using cowboy bebop, or visit your local still-so-funky-it-sells-polyvinyl used record shop, and look in the imports section. I am lucky I live near the concentration of sound post- and pre- processors here in LA south of Hollywood, so there is a concentration of used/rare recordings about. Also a Berkely CA record store opened a branch within easy driving called Amoeba records(used to have to go to Pasadena CA).
Her publisher is Victor Entertainment, which has a site that has some eigo (the English language, in Japanese) but is mostly in Japanese, so this is not too helpful unless you read better than I do and have a more adaptable browser.
