I waved to an old researcher!
Ottox Started conversation May 14, 2003
Two years ago today I made what might be the most important post I've ever made in my time at h2g2, actually it might be one of the most important things I've done in my life!
DNA had died a few days earlier and h2g2 was suddenly crowded with new researchers. I signed up as an Ace to help greet all the newbies. (We were really needed, I got my badge only few minutes after applying!)
Of course all the old researchers were sad about what had happened and at the same time glad to see so many new people. I noticed that Witty Moniker had added "*waves to the new researchers*" to her name, and decided I would tease her a little. I went to her page and started F43217?thread=113709 - *waves to an *old* researcher*.
One of the new researchers had also seen WM's greeting and came to say thanks for it. She posted to the thread I had started. When she needed help with the Guide, I was ready to give Guru advice.
Today I've been living with her for eight months.
Today someone else gets the keys to my old flat in Denmark.
Thanks DNA for this place and all what you did.
Thanks Witty for waving!
Thanks sunny for... everything!
And happy h2g2 birthday!
Thanks h2g2!!!

Aw, shucks!
You know, I've been thinking recently that I really ought to have an 'Ottox and sunny' corner on My Space. But you know how it is with updating the ol' page. Life gets in the way.
But no more procrastinating! As a little anniversary
I create your corner.
You two are so cute!!! Congratulations to both of you!

I'm not sure that it's necessary. But thanks (again)!
(And I just saw the link for your first post. You only lurked for much more than a year!? )

I know what you mean. TJ and I were just saying that if it's the 2 year anniversary of DNA's death, that means it's just about 2 years since I "met" him here. I've often wondered about that ... so many lives were changed by DNA.

Why do you think there's a thread in your message center saying 'Congratulations'?
TJ also registered on 15. May.

I registered at about the same time.
I think there were a lot of people like me
who didn't *know* there was site like H2G2
until it was mentioned in Douglas Adams's
obituary.
