With that shrinking tool thingie you could have made yourself positively anorexic ... but you're lovely just as you are. smiley - smiley

I've used the bloat tool on all my photos ... it's very effective in keeping suitors away. smiley - winkeye

My very dear shea and TJ,

Welcome back!!

What a wonderful, wonderful, fantabulous holiday and thank you for sharing it with us so vividly and in such an exciting fashiion!!. Sorry about the mishap with the bathroom door. It must have been quite horrid. Thank goodness TJ was outside and was able to get help.

The meals you had sounded wonderful. when I saw that it was Mustique Airways that operated there I remembered Princess Margaret. At first I thought the island you were on was her island. Then I read that you actually went to her island. No wonder the dear person loved it so much and was so happy there. Didyou get to see where she lived?

Your meals sounded wonderful and I do hope that you managed to eat lobster. Do your parents live there. I see that you say that your Dad has been ill. I do hope that he is better now. How nice to spend your mother's 70th birthday with them.

I have not been online much lately and so had not caught up with the fact that you had returned from your holiday. The photographs of the island are quite beautiful. It must have been horrifying coming back and having all that trouble with the return flight.

Hope the sea air and the glorious snorkelling, and warm water and lovely sands have done the trick!!

With flondest smiley - love

Also Ran1 smiley - schooloffish

Thanks for the wonderful post, AR1! smiley - biggrinsmiley - hug

The mishap with the bathroom door wasn't that bad. We didn't have anywhere pressing to go that day, and it was just so typically Bequia that I spent most of the time laughing.

I didn't go on a "tour" of Mustique, so I don't know if I saw Princess Margaret's home or not. However, there's a beautiful beach on Bequia that used to be called Tony Gibbon Beach until Princess Margaret took a dip there years ago. It's been known as Princess Margaret Beach ever since!

I got to eat lobster! I got one of the few available at the Lobster Fest. The seas had been very rough, and the locals actually dive for the lobster vs. trapping them, and when the seas are rough, it's hard to get lobsters. There was a bit of a fish shortage as well for the same reasons. Rough seas + small boats = no fish.

My parents rent a small place on Bequia for 3 months a year during the worst of winter. It's very, very reasonably priced (US$450 per month), but not exactly the lap of luxury. It's enough for what they need however, and they love it. My Dad's been ill with heart disease for quite some time. A couple of days before they were going to leave for Bequia his heart went into fibrillation (as it does occasionally), and he stressed about it so much that he gave himself chest pains, and got rushed to the hospital. Thankfully he was okay, but he's gotten into the habit of scaring us a lot lately.

As a matter of fact, my parents are coming home from Bequia tomorrow night (just in time for flooding rains here smiley - yikes). It will be nice to have them home, and give us all peace of mind knowing he'll be near good medical care again. We're always worried about something happening down there, and having to fly him to Barbados for the nearest decent medical care ... or all the way to Miami for "state-of-the-art" care.

I'm glad my favorite redhead is back online. smiley - winkeye You and your son are always in my prayers, AR1. smiley - hug
