well, you can't really. But you CAN set up a guide entry specifically for weird web sites and see who shows up. Entries don't have to be articles--they can be forums or practically anything else you'd like them to be. I'll try to get a page up tonight, but I'm not promising anything (It's already 1am in the states)

Hey, when you have the time, okay? I appreciate the info, though.

Yeah, it'll be today or tomorrow. I'll post to this forum when I get it up and running.

Well, I've written an article about one such site (it's one of my favorite haunts), but it hasn't gotten much attention, even though I posted it on the Peer Review. The article's at http://www.H2G2.com/A414082, if you wanna check it out.

You don't get my article or my posting? If it's my article that's confusing, then just try the links, and check out the site for yourself. Or try THIS link to the aforementioned site:[Broken link removed by Moderator]

Truthfully, it ALL confused me a bit... I couldn't grasp any rhyme or reason, that's all. It's not like it was all greek to me, just, well, I didn't see the point. I have the feeling I wasn't really supposed to, though...

Question:
If someone says something in the forum of something I've written, does it show up in 'current conversations'? Does it show up anywhere? Or do I have to reguarly check the entry to see if anyone has commented?

Yes, it'll show up under Current Conversations. Practically everything will. The onlt thing you'll want to check is your guide entries--if a new posting springs up it won't register anywhere but there.

Well, after rereading my article regarding Grudge Match, I realized that it WOULDN'T make any sense to the Uninitiated(tm). And since that defeats the entire purpose of the article, I'll have to make some serious adjustments to the writing when-I-feel-like-it-and-have-time. I'm thinking less stylistic and more straightforward/business-like.
In the meantime, Triv, you checked out the site(http://www.thefunniest.com/grudge; don't make me link it again)? It has something of a cult following, and you might consider putting a blurb about it in your article of web-weirdness.

I checked it dude, don't worry. I was as lost as our abovementioned friend, but it's a good idea anyway. I'm glad you realized for yourself that it's a bit of an in-joke, but work at it and I'm sure it'll turn out fine. To be truly fair, why don't you post it to the Worst of the Web forum? (shameless plug) And speaking of plugs, I've posted the first suggestion to the Worst of the Web to get it rolling--check it out if you're interested. http://www.h2g2.com/F51504?thread=70867&post=529873 It's one of the weirdest sites I know. Have a ball. Triv
