Is this for that reason, that each time I'd eat some chicken, it was just after one of my pet died ???

Anything can taste like chicken, so the chicken farm is no neccesary condition of having to eat your dead pets.

What if your house plant died and you are served spinach for dinner? Should you be worried?

Well, that depends on
whether or not you like spinach more or less than you like your houseplant.
whether your houseplant was of the spinachous variety
whether you are in dire need of iron or baked clay
