A Conversation for Red Swedish Summer Houses

I'm not sure it is that harmless. The fact that "falurödfärg" is a strict Swedish thing, makes it a nationalistic thing. The nationalism has created bloodier wars than any other thing in the history of history itself, and therefor this paint is a part of the terrible wars of the 20th century. This, on the surface, harmless thing is a product of one of the worst thing ever to have come across mankind - the deviding of Earth into so called nations.
Ok. I think I made my point. It isn't that harmless after all.

I think I've actually heard of houses that did just that. Especially some houses that were painted with a type of plastic based paint. The wood under this paint virtually rotted away, and after a while, the paint was all that kept the houses up.
Oh, and a note about the footnote of the article.. The place isn't called FaluM. It's FaluN. Just thought I'd mention it.

The orignal "Falurödfärg" was made of blod from oxes...
Who want to live in a house painted with blod?

Well, isn't it practical to use the blood for something useful instead of just chucking it away?
I mean, most of the carcas of an ox can be used for handy things.. Food, leather, paint... very economically minded to use it like that.. Maybe it's just the 'smålänning' in me that's talking, but still.

I do not think that ox-thing is very true. The red paint comes originally from the copper-mine in falun. But I've heard of houses which have completely dissapeared when painted with falurödfärg. That is spooky.
