Well, not six - three. And not impossible - unusual.
Replied to two conversations and started a new journal entry.

Okay, I originally read that as "replied to two conservatives" which took me offguard; I didn't really see you as the Twitter-war type.

Oh dear - I'm sitting at breakfast, after having got up, jumped, eyes-still-closed, into the shower and pulled on a towelling dressing gown instead of drying myself off. Not much time for anything impossible. Must try harder.

When I've done six impossible things before breakfast, that tells me I'm still asleep and dreaming so I just relax and continue enjoying a nice lucid dream.

My initial post was a thickly-veiled comment on how quiet things have got around here. I visit only once or twice a week these days because very little on my MP page moves very much now and it's hardly worth checking in any more often that. I think h2g2 was rather of its time, and that time has passed. The internet and the web as we know it now, particularly that awful beast called social media, was a very different place for the first some-odd years of h2. In fact places like h2 *were* the social media of their time.
Although it's nice to have a place like h2g2 where there's a group of (relatively) like-minded people instead of the entire bloody world and their mates, there's bee a reluctance to move along with some very basic and simple upgrades, some say bells and whistles. Text formatting would be nice. So would an ability to post images. I know that we were always a 100% text-based community (apart from the smilies) and proud of it, it would be so nice, and so convenient, to put an image in a post instead of having to link to one. I had to create a Twitter account specifically for posting images, usually screengrabs from web pages or film/TV media, which I could then link to in h2g2 posts. It's really not a good way, is it.
I'm in two minds about an edit feature.
Any road up. This morning I've done three things before lunch: baked a loaf of bread, baked a cake and got my dinner for the coming work week simmering away on the stove. I think I'll watch The Lady in the Van this afternoon.

A few other things would be nice, Like access to the threads we contributed on in 360/cult/BoTf/Ican/get-writing Just to name a few but as with a lot of the BBC a law unto their selfs... the site has gone through so many changes since http://www.tdv.com/ oh those were the days, but with each change stuff has been lost.....or archived to be prfited from in X number of years no doubt by the beeb or whoever gets theirs grubby little hands on its data bases

I shouldn't worry about that, logicus. People these days aren't interested in anything that happened any longer ago than yesterday.

I had noticed that you've been rather quieter than usual lately, Gosho. But with 2legs' wedding and with the recent Leopards and Spitting posts, there have been a few that have returned and some expectation that long delayed progress might finally begin to be considered regarding possibly tentative implementation... maybe. (Noticeably not holding breath)

I'm an enthusiastic user of social media (and h2g2 is social media, always has been) but it depends what I want to do which of the media I use.

I'd agree with that. If I want to get angry at the idiocy of society or look at cats, there's facebook; if I'd rather have meaningful conversation or *quality* mindless drivel, I come here. If it's lovely pictures I'm after it's Instagram, and if I just want to read Sam, Dean or Cas live-tweeting Supernatural, there's Twitter.
