Bicarbonate reminds me of a candy we had as kids here called Zots! They were a hard candy filled with Sodium bicarbonate. They'd begin fizzing in your mouth once you pierced the inner chamber.

This batch looks quite a bit darker than they usually do.

Well, they definitely don't taste like they normally do, but they're not unpleasant.

Bicarb is in a box; cornflour is in a canister. I shall be careful about that in the future

I was hoping you might have stumbled across the latest craze in the "molecular gastronomy" craze.

Maybe you just need to use a vaporizer in the process.
