Is there any point in going to bed tonight?

I fell asleep on the sofa this... no, I guess it's yesterday evening now, around 7.30pm. Next thing I know, it's bleedin' midnight! So I don't see myself having much inclination to go to bed for at least the next three or four hours, if at all, bearing in mind that I've just had four and a half hours kip and that I sometimes only manage five hours a night anyway.
Why is the sofa so much easier to go to sleep on than the bed?
I suppose the first order of business is to eat the dessert I was supposed to have five hours ago (apple crumble, since you ask).

It's funny, when I have a hard time falling asleep in bed, I go to the sofa. Have a bit of kip, then go back to bed, and sleep some more. But I still prefer to go to bed proper, I don't fall asleep on the sofa when I'm watching tv or read, which is odd. So, it's brush teeth and go to bed, toss, turn and nap on the sofa.

I finally went to bed around 4am, read for about half an hour (Blandings Castle by PG Wodehouse), and probably got to sleep around 15 minutes later. I woke up a little before 8am feeling a tad jetlagged. But I did have some very interesting dreams

Those are the ones that usually wake me up, but the memory of them often dissolves far too quickly. I can usually remember that I had them and that they were , but the details are usually a blur or non-existent.
