There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I've just found a DVD in my backpack that I reported missing to Netflix about two months ago. I must have put it in there when I was at the mailbox but then forgotten all about it smiley - blush It's the first disc of Yes Prime Minister.

Thing is, I requested a replacement disc... which I just sent back a few days ago. It's going to look pretty strange when they get it from me out of the blue, having just sent the same disc back smiley - laugh

Hmmm... That reminds me of...

Something similar... smiley - huh

I think I did something like this once. I remember sending two discs back in one envelope and writing a note to go with it, but I think I remember something like them never crediting me with returning the second disc. Since they did credit me with the other disc, they can't claim that they didn't get it, but one of their workers could have stashed it just to avoid the paperwork (27B/6) I suppose. I think I may have reported it lost, but then found it but maybe I just damaged the return envelope. I can't quite recall at the moment.

I know I'm always a bit worried when I have to report a lost disc as I did have several go missing a few years ago. I never got confirmation but I'm almost certain they were stolen by a USPS worker in Houston who got caught doing just this with thousands of Netflix discs. I was worried about hitting an unstated ceiling (kind of like the lifetime cap for insurance), that if you "lost" too many discs they would suspect you were stealing them and cancel your membership.

Of course there's always the possibility of thieves stealing from my mailbox. I lost a prescription delivery that way. I bet the thief was happy when they saw that it was drugs, but really disappointed that it was Androgel. smiley - laugh

Yeah, it's another good reason for going to a streaming plan, but they don't have a lot of the films and shows I want to watch, online.

Yeah, I'm wasting money with them keeping both discs and streaming. I don't want to go to streaming only for the same reason and I'm not watching discs or streams often enough to justify the cost.

I need to stop looking at twitter and reddit when I get home so I can watch more. smiley - doh

And the times I've returned the DVD cover to the store, but left the disc in the player.

And once, they kept bugging me to return one, and I was so sure I had already. Couple of months later, it shows up between the drivers seat and the parking break console in the car. They calculated the fines, looked at me, and said let's forget about this. I think I could have bought the store for that fee...

Back in 2011, if you were in the US, you were probably part of that class action lawsuit against Blockbuster regarding their outrageous late fees. You got a free rental and $1 off non food items and the lawyers representing us customers got $9.25 million in cash. Oh, and the agreement let Blockbuster continue charging outrageous late fees. smiley - cross

Lawyers...

No, I'm not going there. It's not good to be that angry before breakfast, or even my early morning cuppa smiley - tea
