A short entry about a place I visited a couple of years ago.

Nice little Entry, with good balance of description, history, and trivia.

Is it possible to put the accent on the Greek words?

I can put accents on them when they're written in Roman alphabet, but not when they're in the Greek alphabet.

Did I read somewhere that the tides down this strait were being linked to the sirens legend ? (Though I can't find it anywhere now)

Well I never read that.

My memory wanders sometimes - ignore me while I see if I can find it.

Just a couple of points: who is the Mallios family? Somebody we should have heard of? Am I the only one who's ignorant of their importance?

I think it ends a bit abruptly, and sort of off-tangent.
But then again, this may only be me.

Has this just stalled Gnomon or is it ready?

I think it is ready. I see that I never answered B'Elana's last post:

The Mallios family is just a local family with a distinctive house, not anybody you should have heard of, and I don't think that needs to be explained in the Entry.

I like the ending of the entry, as it presents a connection between Chalkida, which undoubtedly nobody has ever heard of, and something everybody knows - the alphabet.
