Hi MJ, good article, learn something everyday here!!

Couple of things

*But due to Tibbles*

'Due to Tibbles'

I don't think there's a need for footnote number 3 and the other 2 could perhaps be put in the main text.

[I personally don't like footnotes full stop but realise sometimes they may be needed]

Otherwise great.smiley - ok

Wow. If there was ever such a thing as a perfect entry I think this would be it. Genuinely touching, informative and interesting.

I know I shouldn't say this but the rum is forcing my hand: Tibbles, a cat that other cats would aspire to be.

Please take that Tibbles comment in context!

I loathe cats, but this Entry made me laugh; nicely done. smiley - ok

My main concern would be the lack of apostrophe in Stephens Island, but I'll be happy to accept the antipodean bowlderism.

I've added an extra paragraph to the section headed The 'Lyall' Wren. I'm not sure if its necessary, but thought it was in interesting coincidence. Any thoughts?

Different family to European wrens, probably named as such only because they approximated in looks to the small brown birds called wrens back 'home'.

Great entry, and a sad story.

It's a good example of the dangers of introduced species. I wonder if there's an article on that just to link to - not to make a lot of, it would spoil the light touch you've got here - but a note in passing might be relevant. Maybe.

The extra paragraph - you mean the wren hunting on St Stephen's day? It's such a coincidence (unless you're right about the name) that it earns its place in the story I think, and it's certainly curious.
