I've corrected the typos, but are you sure about the lower-case 'p' for Private? I've checked various other websites, and it seems to be the convention to write military ranks with an upper-case initial. If Private should be lower case, should 'Second Lieutenant' also be lower case?

I agree with RE in this case. You would capitalise it as a title but not if simply using it as the name of a rank, eg:

I concur with Icy - and admit that 'Second Lieutenant' should be lower case as well.
