Someone has requested a link from this entry to the history webpage of the David Brown website http://www.davidbrown.com/history.php
It's a commercial site, but this particular page is the historical background to the company, so I reckon this should be OK.

It was me who made the request I was just after making the facts totally correct. At the moment its slightly wrong.
If the first paragraph could be changed to this
In 1947 David Brown paid £20,000 for Aston Martin after spotting an advertisement in The Times for a “high class motor business” and the year after he acquired Lagunda. Lagonda's founder Wilber Gunn started his engineering career by building an engine for his bicycle; motorcycles and tricars followed. Like Martin and Bamford, Gunn quickly became involved in motor sport and regularly took on the Aston Martins in the early Grands Prix and in 1935 a Lagonda won the Le Mans 24-Hour race.
Then add the link to the David Brown history page as the link has pictures of David Brown and Stirling Moss after Aston Martin won Le Mans and also on the website there is a video section which actually has footage of some old Aston Martins. The link will also give visitors further information about David Brown and Aston Martin.
Thank You

The paragraph has been replaced and the link has been included the first time David Brown is mentioned. Let me know if anything still needs to be corrected.

Is it just me, or is this sentence:
'In 1947 David Brown paid £20,000 for Aston Martin after spotting an advertisement in The Times for a “high class motor business” and the year after he acquired Lagunda'
a bit ambiguous? Did David Brown buy Aston Martin a year after he acquired Lagonda, or did he acquire Lagonda a year after he bought Aston Martin?

Yes it is ambiguous. That web page says Lagonda was acquired the following year, which is much clearer.
