Dear H2G2,

I humbly request that you revoke your moderation level on one Rt. Rev. Lesley Gentle.

I think if you gave eachother a little more space, then it would save everyone a lot of time and effort

It is very annoying to have to wait to see every post that Mr Gentle makes, moreso because he is an erudite, intelligent asset to the community.

Please try to see the funny side of what are, ostensibly, his more inflammatory postings

Your sincerily

Great Ceasers Ghost

Hi Great Ceasers Ghost,

We don't discuss individual Moderation decisions on site, we'll only discuss the problems with the Researcher concerned via email.

If you'd like to see any of the Researchers who are on pre-Moderation put back onto reactive Moderation, then the best thing that you can do is encourage them to stick to the House Rules.

Hi Mina,

Thanks for your prompt response on this matter

I have spoken to Mr Gentle, and he will try to be more accomodating of your house rules in the future.

I appeal again for you to take into consideration Mr Gentles finer qualities, and hope his temporary ban will be lifted swiftly

Yors sincerily

Great Ceasers Ghost

And Great Ceasers Ghost, if I may offer another remark, the current text on your space is not very helpfull in helping the Rev Lesly if he tries to behave more in accordance to the House rulessmiley - erm

Firstly, I'd like to thank you Great Ceasers for your kind request, very nice of you to do that, indeed!

Secondly, I realise that this isn't necessarily the correct place, but I deleted the e-mail I received by mistake, so I have no other choice but to post here and hope somebody reads it who gives a s**t!.

I'd like to make it clear that I am sincerely very sorry for overstepping the boundaries of taste and decency (all too frequently) in the past, in a manner which is quite out of character. I have read and re-read the house rules today and would like to stress that if given the chance to post unmoderated again, I will follow the guidelines far more stringently than I have in the past.

I will do my best to curtail my rebellious streak, which has developed rapidly of recent weeks, correlating with my current literature of choice, that of Leon Trotsky; I now realise that this site isn't the best forum for permanent revolution, and will revert to my initial, good Vicarly behaviour, given the opportunity.

Again, I'm sorry for any trouble I may have caused you and time I may have wasted, and wish for a chance to redeem myself.

See my most recent article about David Moses OBE; there is a good side to me too, I have just being wearing my dual personality hat a little too often.

Yours

A thoroughly admonished Rt. Rev. Lesley Gentle

Could you be a little more specific?

Thanks for letting us have your point of view. If you'd like to email in to discuss this privately, then we can forward a copy of the email again, just let me know.

I'll discuss this with my colleagues when they are back in the office, and get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for your help. It'd be great to be able to post with out being on pre-mod again, but either way, I await some sort of outcome to my trial!

I was wondering whether you have had the opportunity to discuss the issue any further with your colleagues at all Mina?

I'd just like to know the timescale of my pre-moderation or if it is indefinite. If it is absolutely necessary that this is conducted by e-mail, could I request that somebody furnish me with an e-mail address that I can contact with my question.

Many thanks

His Holiness Rt. Rev. Agadoo Agamemnon Busmalis Lesley Gentle Said Count Mambazo Reet Petite Gulliver Grecian 2000 III Jr.

You can reply to any of the emails that we sent you if you want to get in touch with us - one went out yesterday I believe.

If you haven't received it, then you can email in to [email protected] and someone on the Moderation team will get back to you.

Thanks, I received it and naturally deleted it to avoid clutter.

A tidy inbox is the sign of a twisted mind etc...

Unfortunately there's nothing that we can do if our emails are voluntarily deleted.

Are you not able to tell me if this pre-moderation is permanent or for a period of time? I do not have access to my personal e-mail account during the day time so it can be a touch difficult.

Kind regards

Rt. Rev. Les

It's our policy not to discuss individual Moderation decisions on site.

We're very happy to answer your questions, via email. Is it possible that you can answer our emails before you delete them?

I don't remember there being any questions in the e-mail I received.

It merely stated that the piece I wrote implying that somebody was a bit of a lunatic and begging them not to flip and commit an act of mass carnage in a caffeine house was inapproriate and contravened the house rules. I had no complaints, I felt there was no problem with it, but the moderator obviously did. I have no reason to believe that there was any discussion in the issue, it was his/her decision and I respect it.

I'm sorry, that wasn't clear. I should have said is there any chance that you can reply to our emails before you delete them? You can put your questions in the reply, and we'll deal with them as soon as we can.

Having waited for quite a while, I am respectfully asking you to hurry along your decision on the moderation status decsion on Rev. Lesley Gentle's account

Banned or reinstated, it would be nice to get a decision either way.

I e-mailed them last week asking but have received no response. Apparently they won't take any notice of anything said here, it has to be done by e-mail.
