"We had some fun with the disappearance of the Nighthoover account, what led to on of the current front page societies, however the same defect has also some more serious effects:

Researchers with Edited Entries but never explicitly Signed In to HooToo can not even be referenced on their own entries. "

Some more detail on this problem.
Entry A165601, which is an Edited Entry, was written by researcher Eck U34825.
I edited this entry and clicked on the Set Researchers button. The system removed Eck's name from the entry, and now I can't add it back again.

It may also be related to the problem afflicting postings by certain users in threads (which I hadn't got round to reporting officially yet).

Traveller in Time searching for 'the other postings by nighthoover'
"As far as I see only accounts not Signed In into HooToo have this problem. Any recent posting made requires to Sign In (and a corresponding Personal Space Entry on the respective site).
I think it is down to not creating a Personal Space before the the Single Sign On 13th October 2003. The 'problem' shows only since 27th September 2006.
There may be more effects (I have 'Mina' several times on my friends list) however none with 'missing' information. "

This seems to be a general problem on the system - we can't add pre-SSO users to entries as authors if they never got around to creating a personal space.
Is there anything that can be done?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
