I live just outside Leigh when I'm not swanning around in Glasgow and I can categorically state that you are wrong. Leigh is one of the worst places currently situated upon the planet. DO NOT GO NEAR IT. The people are not nice, most are only interested in rugby league and beer, but in the loutish sense of the word. Leigh is a bad, bad place. The Xanadu will not go ahead because the people of Leigh do not want to save the town and get jobs prefering to watch Sky TV and have a-go a pie-eating Wiganers. The arcade burnt down. The clubs are bad, and expensive. and full of locals. Leigh is a pimple on the planet. it should be closed to the public and quietly shown the door. Leigh can be summed up in one word; no.
