Leigh, Lancashire, England.

LEIGH is a south Lancashire town eagerly awaiting its rebirth.
Once an important jewel in the north west's industrial crown with important mine, mill, transport and engineering heritage it is set for a major revival.
On the verge of the national motorway network, and with waterway and nearby rail links, Leigh is ideally situated between Manchester and Liverpool to attract a multi-million strong regional populace.
Apart from enjoying the nearby attractions of these two major cities the town is just a short hop away from favourite northerners' playgrounds such as the Lake District and West Pennine Moors.
And the town's planned 21st century Xanadu leisure project would see it firmly stamped on the British tourist map.
SHOPPING
Leigh is has a great variety of shops from local corner shops to a great undercover market.
LOCATION
LEIGH is to the south west of Bolton, five miles from the M6 and the M61/62 (trans-Pennine route). The East Lancashire Road, linking Liverpool and Manchester, is two miles to the south.

TO CONCLUDE...
I have visited Leigh several times and find the people to be pleasant and friendly. For a smallish town it has quite a good night life and quite a lot of pubs.
