A Conversation for The Benefits of Going Bald

My hair is fairly short - collar length and bobbed, usually. But there have been occasions when I have contemplated the benefits of being bald. These have included:

1. You never have a 'bad hair' day.
2. You can travel in a convertible with the top down and not worry what you're going to look like when you reach your destination.
3. You can paint ceilings and not worry about getting paint in your hair.
4. Showering takes less time. I spend more time in the shower as my hair grows.
5. Getting ready after a shower takes less time. Nothing to blow-dry.
6. You spend less on toiletries - no shampoo, gel, hairspray, conditioner, hair-dye.
7. You can laugh at commercials for hair-care products. (Mind you, I have hair and *I* laugh at them.)

I was hoping to get a nice round 10. Any ideas, anybody. Preferably women with a good head of hair. After all, bald men already know the benefits.

Don't know about you but no matter how healthy my hair is I keep finding bits of it lying around the house. This irritates me enormously and my hoover doesn't like it much either.

My hair is past my waist and I sometimes, especially in the summer, wish that I could take a shower that wasn't 15 minutes long, but then I remember that I like my hair and so I don't cut it...

You can shave your head yourself, so no more time or money wasted at the barber.

I'm willing to bet there are met with fetishes for bald headed women. Does that help?

If you wear glasses (I do) you don't get hair stuck in the hinge if you're cuddling up to a bald man. My husband has thick curly hair, and I quite regularly pull hair with my glasses (and no further comment on that!)smiley - winkeye

Male-pattern bladness runs in my family, My Dad was bald all my life - and Mom loved to pat or rub his bald pate. My brother and nephews are going bald, and I noticed my son, age 21 today is receding noticeably.

Another bald bennie is that if there's no hair, there's no gray. Ever try to determine a bald person's age?

Here's an interesting thing:

When the hair is at it's stubbly/day after stage, you can use it to light matches. No kidding... an ex of mine claimed his dad would do it to him all of the time, just to tease him...

Apparently it's painful, but if you don't have anything else.. smiley - winkeye

As a female who formally had hair so long I could sit on it I can say I much prefer a shaved head. I was so happy when I finally took a pair of clippers to it . My hair is now very closely shaven(under a centimeter long) and I am never growing my hair again, ever. It is great, I dont have to style it , I dont have to do any treatments, I got to throw away my hair dryer(that was so old it had a habit of giving me little electric shocks)and dandruf is no longer a problem. Having a 2 yo daughter , it makes it very handy not to have to worry about brushing my hair for half an hour to get it to look decent before I take her to her play group, basically I wake up ,wash my face get dressed and go . My hubby is also a fan of the shaved head, having one himself, we do each others hair and then sit together for about an hour rubbing each others head, It feels great! It also acts as a good loofa , getting rid of dead skin on your hands smiley - winkeye.
I find it very sad when I see a combover , I have told hubby that if he ever loses his hair , if he doesn't shave it off, I'll take the razor to his head while he sleeps, same with me .female baldness may be rare but if I get it then all my hair goes( thats if I grow it back at all)
I am Proud to be the second generation of women in my family to have very short hair(my mother(50) has shaved her head for many years now ) we still get taunts about being dykes(gay) but I say let them call me that if they want , they are the ones spending all that money and time on something as trivial as their hair

Hi I have recently shaved my head. It must take a woman a lot of courage to have a very short haircut.
