On further reflection, I'm not sure that having no sleep, leaving home at 4am local time, catching a plane at 9am local time, sitting through another 3 hour flight, arriving at 9am local time (doncha just love those crazy time zones?), stopping off only for a cuppa, a sandwich and a shower before zooming immediately down to The Capital, were such great preludes to The Hen Night. Still, you stayed on your feet, only moderately drunk, so we'll count this one as a triumph.
And any photographic records taken by the hoards of tourists underneath Eros that night of a gaggle of girls perfoming lewd acts on Andre the inflatable sex toy have nothing whatsoever to do with you, thank the Lord.
Personally, I was impressed by the weather. The snow (or 'hail' as the weatherpeople so unsportingly kept insisting) managed to hold off for the weekend, though not, one assumes, The Honeymoon. But......
The Bride looked lovely, the Flowers were divine, the Groom was suitably sentimental, the Food was good, the Music provided everybody with a talking point, the Clothes (after all that stress) weren't more than normally eccentric, the Company was interesting, the Best Man did a fine job, the Hotel was great, the Vicar was irish, the Alcohol was flowing, the Parents were hospitable, the Public Transport was f****** useless. And what more could anybody want?

Yeah, was. But think of all that money you have to spend to entertain Aunt Bertha-who-you-haven't-seen-since-you-were-six. Bizarre
