Omens of Oblivion: Anticlimax
Hastily, Freya pulled out the Amulet of Kings and laid it on the desk. At the sight of it, Jauffre promptly sat down with on his chair again with a baffled look on his face, staring at it. Carefully, he examined it, turning it over. He looked up at Freya, spouting questions.
'Who are you?'
'How did you get this?'
'What do you know of the Emperor's death?'
Freya composed herself for a moment, gathering her thoughts, before starting where she should have started all along; at the beginning. The secret door in the prison cell, the tunnels, the catacombs, the multiople attacks, the Emperor's last words to her and finally, the assassination. After she had finished, Freya anxiously studied Jauffre's face, awaiting his reaction.
'As unlikely as your story sounds, I believe you. Only the strange destiny of Uriel Septim could have brought you to me carrying the Amulet of Kings.'
Freya let out a sigh of relief, but felt she had to ask about some of the things the Emperor had mentioned, that intrigued her. Jauffre admitted to being puzzled too, especially about the Emperor's concern of Oblivion. Jauffre also confirmed the existance of a son, unkown to all but himself, who was now the sole remaining heir to the throne.
'You must go to Kvatch and find him at once!'
What was this? Jauffre had no right ordering her around, as Freya was not a member of the Blades, which she also pointed out to him. Had she not already done more than her share? He did not take this well, but started arguing why it was of the utmost importance and urgency that she travel to Kvatch straight away. Freya, who was beginning to feel hot, with the scratch on her arm bothering her, cut him short.
'You are the Grand Master, let your Blades handle it, after all it is you who are the Emperor's personal body guard, not I!
With these conclusive words, Freya turned around and walked down the stairs. On her way out she spotted a special edition of the Black Horse Courier lying on a table, titled 'Assassination!'. She stopped to quickly read it through. There was especially one sentence that caught her attention:
'An investigation into the identity and motives of the assassins is under way, but the Elder Council, Imperial Guard, and Blades Guard have forbidden the publication of reports and rumors concerning the event until further notice.'
And nowhere any mention of an escaped prisoner, which probably meant she was off the hook. Freya left the building with a sense of relief. She stopped for a moment outside, rolling up her ripped sleeve. The scratch was looking worse, swollen and red around the edges. Freya remembered from Baurus' map that Chorrol lay west of the priory. That seemed to be her best option right now, in her search for a healer, and she started walking.

I haven't read this yet as I want to go start at the beginning and I don't have time at the moment.
But I will.
