It all actually started out with someone telling about a user on youtube named simusicvideos, where various people had made covers of music videos using The Sims A1051615
It's quite amusing - it's obvious some of those videos took quite some time to compile - and yet again, I wonder what kind of people would put hours and hours of work into something like that? Oh well...
Anyway, one of the Sim videos features Madonna in Hung Up - which gave me a link to the original video (or one of many):

I wonder how many people know that Madonna, as one of a very few, got permission to sample stuff from an ABBA piece for this specific video?

Actually, Madonna's version is getting me quite addicted - it's catchy, I've got to admit it - just like ABBA's original

That wouldn't surprise me, since ABBA's been notoriusly reluctant to allow anyone to do anything with their material...

I think they sued Harry Enfield for using a bit of 'Money Money Money' on one of his comedy records, years ago, and KLF for something else. I think Eurasure got permission for one of their tracks though.
Not many people know that s CLub 7 used a Fleetwood Mac track on one of their songs either. The price of getting older - we recognise all the old songs!
As for the Sims, I'm not entirely sure why people like to do that sort of thing, but I'm glad they do as it is funny. Some people have done similar with lego people, which I think is great.

Erasure did an EP (me? old?) I seem to recall with a little handful of ABBA songs. I have 4 of those (don't know if there were more) - Lay all your love, SOS, Take a chance on me & Voulez Vous...
