Titania (gone for lunch)

Just thought I'd share one of my favourite ways of relaxing (although I'm sure there's a Talking Point about it somewhere)

Today (Friday) I did feel in need of some relaxing, so...

- I pulled out two of my sofa seat cushions and put them on my floor
- I opened a bottle of smiley - redwine and poured myself a glass, and a glass of water beside it
- I lit two candles and a lamp (the lamp being behind my back so that I don't see it)
- I filled a bowl with green olives stuffed with garlic (expect my breath to smell smiley - monster after this)
- I picked a book I've read before, that I know I like and that I haven't re-read for quite some time
- I put on a CD with relaxing music, low volume, only to shut out the little noises you have to live with if you have neighbours on both sides, above and below you
- I sat down cross-legged on the cushions, with a woollen filt draped over my shoulders, to keep warm

And I could feel my shoulders sinking down, my breathing slowing down, my mind slowing down. And I did not feel the least bit tempted to turn on the TV...

The 'no TV' is very important in the relaxation process - at least to me. Watching TV doesn't make me feel relaxed - it makes me (or my mind rather) feel numb - and that's not the same thing

Sounds like something I'd love to do. I have to wait though until my little brats go to sleep - the Flintstones movie is on TV. smiley - tongueout
