Also, the trem "highlander" only refers to Connor Macleod in the movies, and not the other immortals. They are just known as "immortals". The term Highlander is after all a general description of where he was born, in the Scottish Highlands.
Ramirez is never called a Highlander in the films,, although Connor calls him lots of other nice names, because that wouldn't be correct. After all, Ramirez a Spaniard.

In fact if you listen carefully, I think its the conversation in the boat
on the Loch, Ramirez makes a point of noting that he is not Spanish,
but Egyptian. Even though his full name sounds spanish to me.
he was chief metallurgist to King Charles V of Spain though.
I can't remember his full name: it's made up of four or five separate
words, I know the last three.

Oh, right. I stand corrected. I have to admit that it was a while sice I last watched the film.
The point was more that only Connor Macleod is a "highlander" (unnless you count Duncan from the tv-series spinoff).

I must say that the Highlander series was one of the most pathetic movie spin-offs I have
ever seen. No problem....I regularly hire the video out every three months!
Question: What did you think of Highlander 2(HA!) & 3?

In my humble opinion, Highlander 2 was even more pathetic than the series. I think they did a good thing when they totally ignored H2 when they made H3, which isn't too bad considering.
But then again, Highlander, the original, has a closed ending, so they shouldn't have even tried making the following two movies at all. But that's just my opinion.

True. Very true, the second was one of the biggest mistakes ever put onto film, I feel
that if it hadn't been presented as a sequel to highlander, with some small but
necessary changes to the storyline and cast, the movie itself wouldn't have been too
bad. I do not mean to brag, but I know for certain that I could have written two sequels
far surpassing both of those which were released, even though I found the 3rd to be
extrememly entertaining, if you ignore how closely it follows what happens in the original
in some parts. If you are unsure what I mean by that, I will be happy to explain it for you.

I think I know what you mean... Flashbacks of the teacher of the past, the baddie (Mario van Peebles) kills the teacher in a fight to 'save' Connor for later, or something, the encounter on Holy Ground, even though Mario van Peebles' character doesn't really care about that rule, the taking of a hostage to draw Connor out to the final show down.
Personally, I could have accepted H3 as a sequel, mostly because almost every other sequel ever made has not been as good as the original, and you could reason that the ending of H1 (when Connor says he can read minds and know everything) could be because of him just disposing of the Kurgan, who had been pretty actively picking off other immortals and taking their powers and knowledge, and if Connor then gets all that, he would know a great deal. Right?

I'm babbling, so I'll just shut the hell up for now.

Just a thought...last i heard, the tv series was still in production, in Paris, with the actor who played Duncan as Director, and that a movie based on the series had been released, titled "HIghlander: World Without End" I don't know if the movie ever came out, as it was a fair while ago that i heard that, and have heard nothing of it since

YOU MISSED OUT 'ENDGAME'

Well, End Game is almost as bad as Highlander 2. To be honest, I didn't watch EndGame until about two months ago. And it was very not good, in my opinion.

I JUST TEND TO THINK OF THE QUICKENING AS THE SEQUEL TO THE SORCEROR.. JUST IGNORING THE PLOTHOLES.... EPSPECIALLY THE FACT THAT IT WASN'T EXPLAINED HOW CONNOR GOT THE QUICKENING WITH KAIN STILL AROUND... OR HOW HE DOESN'T HAVE THE QUICKENING'S POWERS AT THE START OF THE SECOND ONE....
