Welcome to H2G2
Baldrick Started conversation Jun 10, 2000
Hello and welcome to H2G2. You should be getting a visit from an ACE soon (Assistant Commnunity Editor), who are the official welcoming mat. I'm not one, but I've applied for ACE status and as such am trying to win a few brownie points by welcoming a few people. Just in case you don't like the look, then go to Preferences and change the skin to 'Classic GOO', which is how H2G2 used to look.
So once again, welcome and have fun!
(This is where I'd put a smiley but I can't remember how!)

Hello! Hello hello hello!
Hi!
You appeared to be new, so I thought I'd come over and greet you... As Baldrick says, usually the ACE's do this, but they're not everywhere... and some of us mortals like doing their job before they do...
Like some bonbons?
*offers round bonbons*
They're very nice.
*eats bonbon self to prove the point*
*wonders why a point needed to be proven...*
Anyhow, normally here you'd get a list of links, useful and fun, but I'm afraid I'm really not organized enough to do that...
So, here's Bruce's GuideML clinic: http://www.h2g2.com/A187229
And my Save the Nails/Hammers Campaign is: http://www.h2g2.com/A321634 but please don't feel you have to come. I'd just be very grateful if you did come over and join...
And that's all the interesting links I have... sorry!!
But if you have any questions, please feel free to come over to my page and ask them, just click on my name and the link will take you straight over... or, alternatively, you could find someone who looks like they actually know what they're doing...
And I never even knew that about the Goo, Baldrick! But it's mostly Goo for me at the moment anyway...
Happy H2G2ing!

That's OK! You'll see how friendly everyone is here - it's great!
Don't you want any bonbons?

While you were depositing pleasantries on my page, I was also doing so on your page. I read about the hang out places that Bluebottle wanted people to go to, and I think I will go there. Oh well. Next time we won't miss each other. "Your page or mine?"

Time for me to do a bit of advertising to I suppose.
Ok, there can be some VERY good conversation and food to be had at the H2G2 Dinner Party, run by Greebo T. Cat (no you're not getting any links because I'm too lazy to find out the addresses), plus a game of croquet has just been started, then there's Greebo's As Long As It Lasts Party (currently on its ninth conversation) and the Cheshire Grin Inn at the H2G2 Space Centre.
And there's also my Guide Entries to read.
Welcome to H2G2

Greebo's homepage is here: http://www.h2g2.com/U65771
Unfortunatey I don't know the other addresses...
Yes, Bluebottle's Waterworks are an incredibly cool place to be. Only you'll have to go back to that conversation to find the links...
Errrr... I'm happy just keeping missing each other, that's what I do best... you haven't put forth a prefence on the bonbon front yet.

Sorry about the rejection of your bonbons, but I have a thing against foods associated with France. If they were called "goodgoods," Maybe I'd consider it. Maybe. Pretty crap name anyway. Will visit all places mentioned, but later. Also, will submit a guide entry sometime. Hopefully will be able to be funny without being a dickhead. It's awfully painful reading the "Writer's Guidelines" isn't it? Makes you feel like they think you're a complete wanker, always trying to be funny and never succeeding. Oh dear. "No Pressure, guys, don't bother trying to be funny..." I suppose they're pretty nice about it, all things considered.
Key: Complain about this post
