My Mum is with my sister in Nettleton (until tomorrow) in a few mins I am off to Gordon's to open our gifts, then coming back here to collect Andrew then we're all off to Laura's for Christmas lunch, Gordon will have a few
Still no baby news, but at least Jenny's been sent home so she can spend Christmas with Allan & Harrison
Tomorrow we're all off to my sister's St Stephen's Day party (it's not Boxing Day, that's Tuesday this year!) Gordon will be driving so I can have a few and
On the news this morning they interviewed a woman standing outside Sandringham with a bunch of flowers for The Queen, she said she was there because she hadn't any family of her own so was sharing the Royal Family. I can't imagine a life without my family, so I'm hoping you're all having a good time with yoursand some peace & quiet with your loved one later.
and best wishes for 2011

Every calendar I've checked seems to say something different, but I was correct that today is St Stephen's Day. The BBC are wrong
We had a wonderful day yesterday, my daughter #1 really excelled herself - there was turkey, pork and lamb and a multitude of fresh veg & roast potatoes, stuffing, gravy AND Yorkshire pud! I probably look like now Puddings, you don't wanna know. Do you? Yule Log with double cream (is what I had), there was also something called a "girdle-buster" served with toffee sauce (no, I didn't have that) and also something which had cherries in, called "millionaire" something, served with home-made (by Liam) cookies. My sister got me a crystal poppy brooch from the Royal British Legion. Gordon got me a solid silver rolo in a presentation box which he'd also had engraved (the rolo) and a tobacco pashmina to compliment my new camel coat. One of Gordon's sons sent me a DVD box set of The Universe and Laura got me a 6-month subscription to Astronomy Now. I am such a lucky girl!

The rolo only counts if it was his last one.

You can call me TC Posted Dec 26, 2010
A Happy Christmas to you and Gordon from TC and family.
We were lucky to be all together, too - like old times. We had expected our oldest to spend Christmas with his wife. But he said he'd be coming to us. (My mother was shocked at the thought that they should be spending Christmas Eve separately!) We have seen plenty of our new daughter-in-law, but for Christmas lunch and dinner on Christmas Eve it was just the three boys and my sister-in-law. I think my No 1 son will be seeing plenty of his in-laws over the holidays, and we've exchanged presents with his lovely lady, and drunk toasts to everyone.
The afternoon of Christmas Day flew by.
We still have deep snow here.
Lots of love and good cheer to everyone reading this thread. Only the New Year left to chime in now and then it's back to the grindstone! Make the most of it, everyone!

The 26th is always Stephen's Day. It's usually also Boxing Day in the UK, but technically not when it falls on a Sunday, in which case Boxing Day is Monday the 27th. But the BBC seems to have forgotten that.
