You can call me TC Posted Oct 7, 2010
Oh brilliant - I loved Israel. They make you feel really at home there.
My view is that everyone should go there. People who've been to Egypt probably say the same thing. My sister-in-law goes there a lot. She knows some bedouins and sleeps in tents and washes in buckets and has to take loads of batteries for their mobile phone.
I wonder if it's still like in "Death on the Nile"?

Yes I've been looking at the best aurorae of the year: http://www.space.com/php/multimedia/imagegallery/igviewer.php?imgid=5492&gid=401 (click to enlarge, the url is too long to repost) and get a load of this view from New Zealand http://www.space.com/php/multimedia/imagegallery/igviewer.php?imgid=5486&gid=401 with the arm of the Milky Way also in the shot

I believe you meant, "Holy Cow!"
I want to get to where I can see stars in the sky. Then I'll work on auroras. Too much ambient light on this island...

There's less auroras these days than it used to be, they say: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100928/sc_afp/finlandenvironmentsciencearctic_20100928164050
Also, few years ago we had this nice x-mas party in Estonia with few fellow hootooers, that happened to be in August and we saw auroras indeed. I admit, it's quite rare, though. And we probably noticed it only because we were on a beach.
Egypt is a great idea. Something completely different.

*giggles at the name of the researcher quoted in the article Hati referred to*
Noora Partamies - the first name implies it's a female, but the last name means BeardedMan
